Gear Up to End Hunger
Gear Up to End Hunger is more than just a bike ride. It’s a movement to make a difference in the lives of hungry North Texans. Whether you cycle every day or just once in a while, you can help us leave hunger in the dust.
Gear Up to End Hunger: 2-Day Challenge
This year’s bike ride takes place on Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1. Mayor Betsy Price will kick the event off at the Fort Worth Water Gardens and lead cyclists on rides across the city.
On Day 1 of the ride, grab your helmet and bike for one of two scenic routes through downtown Fort Worth. Our Fort Worth Family Fun Rides are 2 or 10-mile courses great for those who want to take a more casual cruise. The Kick It Into Gear 30-Mile takes things to the next level. This course glides through downtown Fort Worth, the Cultural District, Clearfork and Trinity Park.
On Day 2 of the ride, the fun continues with our Fight Hunger to the Finish 100K. This course takes you out of downtown Forth Worth and circles the Texas Motor Speedway before heading back.
Up for a challenge? Sign up for Betsy’s Challenge. To take the challenge, you must complete the Kick It Into Gear 30-Mile on Day 1 and the Fight Hunger to the Finish 100K on Day 2. To meet the challenge, you must finish both rides within 15 percent of Mayor Betsy’s time.
At the end of each day of the ride, join us for complimentary food and beverages. You’ll also be able to go home with some Gear Up to End Hunger goodies. Every rider will take home an event T-shirt and drawstring bag. Riders who succeed in Betsy’s Challenge will also receive a high-performance jersey and a group photo with Mayor Price.
