Volunteer Orientation

Quality Control, Community Kitchen, and Garden on the Go

While there is no formal orientation prior to volunteering with these events:

  • Volunteers are asked to arrive a few minutes prior to the beginning of a scheduled shift to complete the sign-in process.
  • Staff will be on hand to provide a brief introduction to Tarrant Area Food Bank and the numerous opportunities available to fight hunger in the communities served by TAFB.
  • An overview of the work to be accomplished during the shift will also be provided

Thank you for choosing Tarrant Area Food Bank to fulfill your community service assignment. Court-ordered/lawyer-referred community service volunteers are able to volunteer in Quality Control and must complete orientation prior to beginning service hours. These volunteer orientations are scheduled as follows:

1st Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m.

3rd Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m.

You must register online to attend orientation and bring documentation from the court, a lawyer or an officer. Those with physical or sexual offenses are not able to volunteer.
