Louisiana Green Beans
Spicy or not, green beans prepared Louisiana style are refreshingly delicious and are a perfect side dish for picnics, potlucks or your next family dinner.
Ingredients
- 1/2 medium onion
- 1/4 green bell pepper
- 2 ribs celery
- 2 cans (14.5-ounces) green beans
- 1 can (14.5-ounces) chopped tomatoes
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Wash bell pepper and celery. Wipe off tops of all cans.
- Peel and chop onion. Chop green pepper and celery. Peel and finely chop garlic clove.
- Drain the liquid from the green beans and rinse with water.
- Combine green beans, tomatoes with liquid, onion, green pepper, celery, garlic and red pepper flakes in a skillet.
- Cover over medium heat and cook for 15 minutes until the celery is tender and the food is hot.
