A recent Farm Bill proposal would freeze the cost of the Thrifty Food Plan, the basis for SNAP benefits, and result in a roughly $30 billion cut to SNAP benefits over the next decade that would affect every SNAP participant. This includes an estimated $2.29 billion cut in Texas.
With high food prices, a dollar just doesn’t stretch as far. SNAP is the nation’s largest nutrition program. Tell your lawmakers to permanently and sustainably protect SNAP benefits in the 2023 Farm Bill!
This year, we have an opportunity to help both farmers and communities in need that only comes around twice a decade. Ask Congress to pass a strong 2023 Farm Bill that increases funding for key federal agriculture and nutrition programs!
