A recent Farm Bill proposal would freeze the cost of the Thrifty Food Plan, the basis for SNAP benefits, and result in a roughly $30 billion cut to SNAP benefits over the next decade that would affect every SNAP participant. This includes an estimated $2.29 billion cut in Texas.
With high food prices, a dollar just doesn’t stretch as far. SNAP is the nation’s largest nutrition program. Tell your lawmakers to permanently and sustainably protect SNAP benefits in the 2023 Farm Bill!
