Food Policies

Tarrant Area Food Bank cares about our community members. We hold ourselves accountable to serve the community with the following policies.

Nutrition Policy

Since our start in 1982, Tarrant Area Food Bank has supplied food to help families in need. We believe that access to healthy food is a basic human right and that all people deserve consistent, nutritious meals. We believe it is our responsibility to ensure that the food we distribute is high quality, nutritious and safe.

Culturally Diverse Food Policy

The purpose of Tarrant Area Food Bank’s Culturally Diverse Food Policy is to increase awareness of cultural nuances and preferences by developing and sustaining a culturally diverse food policy (CDFP) that ensures the food we source and distribute is representative of our local communities.

Food Safety Policy

Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) board of directors, management and staff are fully committed to effectively managing food safety and sanitation practices that eliminate adulterated and compromised food resulting in the safe storage and distribution of high-quality food through our network of partners.
