Louisiana Green Beans

Spicy or not, green beans prepared Louisiana style are refreshingly delicious and are a perfect side dish for picnics, potlucks or your next family dinner.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 1/4 green bell pepper
  • 2 ribs celery
  • 2 cans (14.5-ounces) green beans
  • 1 can (14.5-ounces) chopped tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions
 

  • Wash bell pepper and celery. Wipe off tops of all cans.
  • Peel and chop onion. Chop green pepper and celery. Peel and finely chop garlic clove.
  • Drain the liquid from the green beans and rinse with water.
  • Combine green beans, tomatoes with liquid, onion, green pepper, celery, garlic and red pepper flakes in a skillet.
  • Cover over medium heat and cook for 15 minutes until the celery is tender and the food is hot.
