Working to end hunger doesn’t always start with a meal. It starts with those who serve. The Tarrant Area Food Bank’s volunteer opportunities range from quality control, community kitchen, community market, community gardens, mobile distributions and with our network of partner agencies.

Whether you’re an individual, group, or company there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer!

INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING AT TAFB?

Quality Control

Work together to sort and/or pack fresh produce, nonperishable foods, and household items, preparing them for distribution. Duties may include checking for expiration dates, quality control, labeling cans, bagging product.

Community Kitchen

Prepare healthy meals from scratch with guidance from our on-staff chefs.Volunteers will receive a briefing on the day’s meals to be prepared and assist with packaging and labeling meals, and kitchen cleanup.

Community Gardens

Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of gardening including planting and harvesting. All of the produce harvested will go directly to families in our 13 county service area.

INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING IN THE COMMUNITY?

Curbside Pickup

TAFB West's Community Market offers order pick-up every Friday. Volunteers will help get the orders ready and distribute them into vehicles as families arrive.

Food Distribution

While volunteering at a mobile distribution, you will help distribute food and provide cheerful service to clients, and assist with set-up and teardown.

Our network of over 500 food pantries provide both perishable and non-perishable food items to families and individuals each month.

Distribute Vouchers to help families purchase fresh produce at local Farmers Markets. Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.

The Tarrant Area Food Bank offers times for court-ordered or lawyer-referred community service assignments at our Fort Worth location.
