Dear Neighbor,
Every day, I hear from hard-working families, older adults, veterans, and neighbors with challenges about the difficult choices they face due to rising costs—deciding how to keep food on the table, stay healthy, pay all their bills, and keep their homes. Even in these challenging times, I’m reminded of the resilience, dignity, and care our community shows one another.
This commitment to each other guides partners, including local nonprofits, schools, healthcare providers, and faith-based groups. Government support at all levels, including programs such as SNAP, SNAP-Ed, TEFAP, and Medicaid, are vital resources that help our local families stay healthy and nourished during times of hardship.
Right now, Congress is considering decisions that could reduce support for these programs and shift the burden to local communities. When federal support is cut, the need and responsibility don’t go away—it falls on local partners and community members, who are already working hard to help their neighbors through tough times.
This is a critical moment to strengthen our local efforts. Tarrant Area Food Bank is a leader in hunger relief, working with over 500 partners to provide nutritious food and resources. Through programs like our Agricultural Hub, Ready to Learn®, and Ready to Nourish™, we help neighbors access fresh food, improve health, and build more resilient communities. But we know we can’t do this alone; addressing hunger is a shared responsibility that calls on all of us to stand together.
Now more than ever, I invite you to support our community, Tarrant Area Food Bank, and our local hunger relief network. Please consider donating, volunteering, or joining us in advocating to help ensure every neighbor has access to the food and care they need to live healthy, dignified, and thriving lives.
Sincerely,
Julie Butner, President & CEO
