Tarrant Area Food Bank Receives Grant from the Morgan Stanley Foundation to Support Child
and Family Relief Programs in Their 13-County Service Area

Fort Worth, TX July26, 2024 – The Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) announced today that a $32,000 grant from the Morgan Stanley Foundation will support its Ready To Learn in-school market programs to more effectively reach children and families facing hunger in the 13 counties they serve.  Food insecurity exists in every county, parish and borough in the United States. It impacts people of all ages, races, ethnicities, abilities and beliefs. In the Tarrant Area one in six people, including one in 4 children, face hunger.

Tarrant Area Food Bank is so appreciative of this grant money from the Morgan Stanly Foundaton during a critical time when kids and families are struggling in the summer.” said Julie Butner, President and CEO of the Tarrant Area Food Bank.  “This donation will have an immediate impact on feeding the community with our Ready To Learn School Market program as kids go back to school in the coming weeks”.

TAFB is one of 44 Feeding America® partner food banks receiving funding from the Morgan Stanley Foundation this year, as part of its long-standing commitment to supporting children’s health in communities across the country. The Morgan Stanley Foundation has announced $8 million in additional funding over the next four years to Feeding America, bringing the firm’s total funding to more than $50 million since 2009 to support local hunger-relief programs that deliver food assistance and nutritious meals to children and families.
