The Tarrant Area Food Bank & THE BIG GOOD Team Up to Unveil the Next Ready to LearnTM In-School Market at Crowley Middle School
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WHAT: Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) and THE BIG GOOD have teamed up to proudly launch the next Ready to LearnTM In-School Market this month at Crowley Middle school. With the opening of this in-school market, TAFB has now opened 97 school markets through its Ready to LearnTM initiative. The Tarrant Area Food Bank is close to its goal to double the number of in-school markets to more than 100 by the end of this year, guaranteeing that children have the most important school supply they need—food. THE BIG GOOD’s gift will open and fully operate this pantry starting this fall.
WHO: THE BIG GOOD is the nonprofit effort of Grammy-Award winning recording artist Leon Bridges and legendary football coach Gary Patterson. After many years of partnership with TAFB, THE BIG GOOD has expanded its efforts by teaming up with TAFB’s Ready to LearnTM initiative to increase access to healthy, nutritious food for families facing food insecurity throughout North Texas.
WHEN: On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 9:00 am, THE BIG GOOD, Tarrant Area Food Bank, and Crowley Middle School will host a ribbon cutting with friends, colleagues, and supporters to launch this new market. The event will be held at Crowley Middle School – 3800 W. Risinger, Fort Worth, TX, 76123.
WHY: TAFB launched the Ready to LearnTM Initiative in 2021 to ensure that the 1 in 4 children facing hunger across TAFB’s 13-county service area are ready to learn. The Ready to LearnTM initiative aims to achieve this by increasing access to nutritious food and essential nutrition resources for families with school-aged children facing food insecurity. Thanks to this partnership between TAFB and THE BIG GOOD, families will be able to provide healthy, nutritious food on their tables from an in-school market that is accessible and convenient.
