Tarrant Area Food Bank to Support Families Facing Summer Hunger with
Mobile Food Distribution Event in Haltom City
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WHAT: Tarrant Area Food Bank will host a Mobile Food Distribution event to help families facing hunger in Tarrant County. The event aims to serve approximately 500 families with essential, nutritious food to support healthy meals at home, while supplies last. This distribution is especially critical during the summer months, when many children lose access to school meals and food insecurity rises.
WHO: Open to anyone seeking emergency food assistance. No identification or paperwork is required to receive food assistance.
WHEN: Friday, July 11, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
WHERE: W.G. Thomas Coliseum, 6108 Broadway Ave., Haltom City, Texas 76117
WHY: Summer can be the hardest time of year for children and families facing hunger who count on school meals during the school year. As temperatures rise, so does the strain on household budgets, making it harder for many to put food on the table. TAFB’s mobile food distribution events are crucial in bridging this gap, ensuring no family has to choose between paying bills and providing healthy meals. Through these efforts, TAFB reaffirms its commitment to alleviating hunger and improving health in our community.
MEDIA INFORMATION: An interview with a TAFB spokesperson is only available between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. on event day.
