Tarrant Area Food Bank West 3rd Annual Peaches in the Warehouse Presented by Albertsons Raises Enough to Provide 150,000 Meals to Their 7 Counties They Support
Parker County Hospital District supports as the Hospitality Sponsor
Tarrant Area Food Bank West (TAFBW), the second location for the Food Bank in Weatherford and serving 7 counties including Parker County, held their 3rd annual Peaches In the Warehouse presented by Albertsons last night. The event was sold out, welcoming over 100 people to both tour the food bank at West and learn more of all they do for the community, all while enjoying peach-infused food, drinks and desserts. The dollars raised equate to over 150,000 meals that will be provided to neighbors in need in the 7 counties they serve.
TAFBW held this event as a lead into the Parker County Peach Festival, beginning this weekend. Guests were treated to a walking tour of the food bank to learn about the food distribution efforts at West, as well as Nutrition Education partnerships with Weatherford ISD, the Gardens program, the R.E.D. Bus mobile vehicle and their own Community Market, serving the needs in Weatherford and surrounding areas. Each stop of this self-guided tour included a peach-infused signature dish dessert or drink for guests to sample. Some of the menu items were developed and prepared by TAFB culinary staff. The food bank welcomed the support of many to have this event be so successful, including volunteers, staff and the financial support from Albertsons, the Parker County Hospital District, Saigebrook Development, Texas Health Resources Willow Park, Tri-County Electric, among others.
“The success of Peaches in the Warehouse was a team effort inside and outside of the food bank at West,” said Julie Butner, President and CEO of Tarrant Area Food Bank. “Thank you to volunteers, sponsors, employees, founders and the TAFBWest community at large, together we will provide over 150,000 more meals into the 7 counties we serve.”
