Vouchers Available for WIC Clients: Cowtown Farmers Market through September 28, 2024
Calling all WIC recipients! Eligible WIC clients can receive vouchers at the Cowtown Farmers Market to buy fruits and vegetables from local farmers with the Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP). The U.S. Department of Agriculture recommends making half of your meal plate fruits and vegetables; buying and preparing fresh in-season produce is the perfect way to do so!
Vouchers are available one time per year for pregnant, nursing and post-partum mothers, children ages 1-5, and infants aged 4 months or older. You can receive and redeem vouchers at:
- Cowtown Farmers Market at Veteran’s Park, 8901 Clifford St., White Settlement, TX 76108 Saturdays, 8am-12pm
How to Get Vouchers
To receive vouchers, families with WIC benefits should bring a printed copy of their WIC shopping list to Cowtown Farmers Market on a Saturday morning by Sept. 28, 2024. If a printed shopping list is not available, the MyWIC app can be shown to the attendant so they can see all eligible recipients.
Can’t make it to the market? No problem! If someone else will be shopping in place of an eligible WIC client, make sure they have a signed proxy note that gives them permission to receive vouchers, in addition to the client’s WIC shopping list. A copy of the proxy note can be found here to print or copy by hand.
Vouchers can be picked up at the FMNP tent near the entrance to the market. Diapers are also available for families picking up vouchers thanks to the Junior League Diaper Bank.
Vouchers are also available for adults who are age 60+ and qualify as low-income. Learn more here: Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program – Tarrant Area Food Bank (tafb.org)
Shopping at the Farmers Market
Once vouchers have been claimed, getting fresh fruits and vegetables is simple! Shoppers can look for signs that say the farmer accepts vouchers and trade in the voucher slip for fresh produce. Use all vouchers at Cowtown Farmers Market by October 26, 2024. Happy shopping!
Some Tips:

- Bring a reusable or insulated bag to store fresh fruits and vegetables.
