Summer Meals Program

What is the Summer Meals Program?

Summer can mean losing access to reliable school meals for the 1 in 4 Texas children facing hunger. That’s why the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) works to bring no cost, healthy meals to Texas kids through the Summer Meals Program. Expect welcoming faces in a supervised setting, and a healthy meal for kids when you and your children arrive at a summer meal site.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) funds the Summer Meals Program – including the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and the Seamless Summer Option (SSO). The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) administers the Summer Meals Program in Texas.
