Tarrant Area Food Bank Welcomes Five New Board Members As It Looks To Innovation And Growth For The Future

September 24, 2024 (Dallas/Fort Worth)The Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) announces the newly appointed Directors of the Tarrant Area Board whose start date begins October 1, 2024.  “These five new members further deepen the experience and perspective of our Board of Directors” said Julie Butner, President and CEO of the Tarrant Area Food Bank.  “The food bank is committed to selecting board members who bring meaningful and diverse professional and personal experience.  The new BOD members include:

Karen Love, President and CEO, Cook Children’s Health Plan

With over thirty years of experience in the healthcare industry, Karen has made significant contributions to improving the well-being of children in North Texas and beyond.  Cook Children’s Health Plan plays a crucial role in providing healthcare services to children, and Karen Love’s leadership has been instrumental in fulfilling their mission.

Diana Gardner, Former Walmart Supply Chain GM/RVP Store Operations People

Diana has 28 years’ experience as a former Regional VP and General Manager with Walmart with a demonstrated history of working in the retail industry.  Strong business development professional skilled in Grocery Supply Chain, Food Compliance, Retail, Team Building, Loss Prevention, Visual Merchandising, and Marketing Strategy.

Dr. Semi Ali, MD, Board of Trustee, Fort Worth Academy

Dr. Semi Ali, MD, serves as board of trustees’ member at Fort Worth Academy.  With extensive experience in healthcare, Dr. Ali brings valuable insights to the institution.  Her background is deeply rooted in the Fort Worth community, fostering personal connections that enhance her contributions.  Dr. Ali’s expertise spans healthcare and community engagement.

Dr. S. Sean Madison, President of Tarrant County College–Trinity River Campus

Dr. S. Sean Madison, a native of West Palm Beach who now calls Fort Worth home, has dedicated over three decades to higher education. With 23 years of leadership experience, including his tenure as President of Tarrant County College’s Trinity River Campus since 2015, Dr. Madison is passionate about fostering student success, driving workforce development initiatives, and fostering community engagement.

Prior to his role at TCC, Dr. Madison held various positions at Broward College and Miami Dade College, where he developed a deep appreciation for the community college mission. Beyond his professional responsibilities, Dr. Madison is actively involved in community organizations and enjoys listening to vintage jazz and gospel music.

Scott McConaghy, CFP; Market Executive, Fort Worth and Associates

Scott currently serves Market Executive for the Fort Worth and Associates market for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.  Scott manages seven offices for Merrill Lynch in Tarrant County and West and is responsible for 200 employees and thousands of clients.  Scott has over 20 years of experience in the industry and has been with Bank of America and Merrill Lynch since 2005.
